Project Overview
The purpose of this project was to create a promotional poster for Dance with Faraday, a children’s creative movement class for ages 4–11 at Seven Stars Arts Center. The poster needed to communicate essential information including the class schedule, location, cost, contact information, website, and registration QR code while creating an inviting impression of the program.
A major client requirement was that the poster feel inclusive in both color and imagery, so families from diverse backgrounds would feel represented and encouraged to participate. I selected imagery showing children from different backgrounds participating in dance and used a light green and blue palette to create a friendly, energetic, and approachable visual identity. We also went through several rounds of revisions to ensure that all of the event information and copy was accurate before the final design was approved.
The final design uses a strong visual hierarchy to guide viewers from the event name and description to the imagery, pricing, and registration information. The circular price callout and handwritten-style “sign up now!” element add visual interest while the QR code provides a convenient way for parents to register.

My Design Process
Step One: Empathize
Reviewed the client’s goals and target audience to understand how the poster could appeal to parents and guardians while representing children from diverse backgrounds.
Step Two: Define
Established the key communication requirements, including the event name, class description, age range, schedule, location, cost, contact information, and registration method.
Step Three: Ideate
Explored inclusive photography, color combinations, typography, and graphic elements that would communicate the energy and welcoming atmosphere of the dance program.
Step Four: Prototype
Developed the poster using diverse imagery, a light green and blue color palette, strong typography, a circular price callout, and a QR code for registration.
Step Five: Test
Reviewed the design for readability, hierarchy, visual balance, and accuracy. I incorporated multiple rounds of client feedback, particularly to ensure that all event copy and details were correct.
