BeatsFest Branding & Style Guide- Student Project

Project Overview

BeatsFest is a youth-focused music streaming company created to connect young listeners with music through an approachable, energetic, and inclusive brand. The goal of this project was to develop a recognizable visual identity that would appeal primarily to Gen Z and younger Millennials while remaining simple, accessible, and adaptable across digital and physical applications.

I developed a complete brand identity centered on a combined logo featuring a musical-note brandmark and a rounded lowercase wordmark. The identity uses a vibrant pink color palette and clean sans-serif typography to reflect the brand’s youthful and energetic personality. I also created a comprehensive brand style guide covering the brand’s mission and voice, target audience, logo variations and usage, color, typography, and digital and physical applications. The final system provides clear guidelines for maintaining a consistent and recognizable BeatsFest identity across different platforms.

My Design Process

Step One: Empathize

Researched the BeatsFest audience and client requirements to understand their expectations for a youthful, inclusive, and energetic music brand.

Step Two: Define

Established the core brand attributes, visual requirements, and design goals based on the client brief and audience research.

Step Three: Ideate

Explored logo concepts, typography, color palettes, and visual directions before selecting a musical-note concept with a rounded wordmark.

Step Four: Prototype

Developed the selected concept into a complete brand identity with logo variations, typography, color standards, and usage guidelines.

Step Five: Test

Evaluated the identity for readability, contrast, scalability, and consistency across different applications and refined the guidelines accordingly.
